Introduction To SiteGround
Installing SSL Certificates
SSL certificates are an incredibly important feature you need to have on your site. Essentially a SSL certificate encrypts an organizations details and let’s the browser and the user know that the site is secure. It is what allows the browsers to pass data over HTTPS instead of HTTP. This used to be the standard for sites that processed payments, but now that google will actually alert the user if any site does not resolve or HTTPS it is pretty much essential for every site to now have a certificate. Luckily installing one on your domains on SiteGround is both free and easy.
To install an SSL certificate you first need to log in and navigate to the domain that needs the SSL certificate’s dashboard.
Once you are in the dashboard, go ahead an navigate to the security section of the navigation bar and click on the SSL Manager tab.
Once you are in the SSL Manager section, go ahead and select the domain you want to install the certificate on from the dropdown, select the Let’s Encrypt option, and click get. That’s all there is to it, you now have an SSL certificate installed on the domain, though it may take a day to complete the request.
